Cape Enrage Interpretive Centre

 

A registered charity dedicated to the preservation, protection and promotion of the Cape Enrage lighthouse established in 1840. Site is operated by university and high school students from across the Maritimes. Managed by a Board of Directors with Ann and Dennison Tate co-director volunteers. Organization was established by the Tates in 1993 and has become one of New Brunswick's Top Attractions, a winner of the 2002 Attractions Canada award for Best Developed Outdoor Site in New Brunswick. The lighthouse has been transferred to the company who operate and maintain the lighthouse until 2015. Revenues are generated from the CAA/ AAA approved Keepers Lunchroom, The Whistle House Gift Shop and from entrance donations. It is not a government-funded organization beyond partial grants to a few students totalling 15% of the seasonal wages. Funding comes primarily from the volunteer Board of Directors.
